Payment
Payment for your consultation will be required on the day of your appointment. We accept Eftpos, Visa and Mastercard. We also have HICAPS terminals available, so we can help you claim from your private health insurance on the day of the appointment. We are not affiliated or preferred in any way with any private health insurer.

If further treatment needs to be undertaken, we will have to collect a deposit before being able to organise a time for the treatment appointment.
General Anaesthetic Fees
General Anaesthetics can be done at a private hospital or in-house theatres at Spring Hill, Chermside, and Upper Mount Gravatt practices.
We have fully equipped in house anaesthetic theatres for children needing to be treated under general anaesthesia. Specialist medical anaesthetists attend our practice and are supported by experienced anaesthetic nurses. This is a great option for patients without private health fund or patients wanting to claim back from CDBS. Our theatre fee is significantly less than the Private Hospitals at only $389. In comparison most private hospitals will charge anywhere from $900 to $3300.
Treatment under general anaesthetic will incur three main costs:
1) Dental Treatment Fee (payable directly to Kids Dental and My Braces)
After your initial consultation you will be provided with an itemised treatment plan.
2) Theatre Fee (location of appointment)

3) Anaesthetist Fee (payable directly to the anaesthetic group)
The anaesthetic will be performed by a specialist anaesthetist. The anaesthetic fee is calculated on the duration of the procedure, which includes both the procedure and the time required by the anaesthetist before and after the procedure.
The anaesthetist is a separate business to ours. The anaesthetic fee is paid directly to the anaesthetist on the day of treatment.
The payment will need to be paid by Visa or Mastercard. No payment plans or finance is available for this fee.
The fees are time based. The fees range between $600.00 to $1350.00. The anaesthetic fee is NOT included in this Quote. A rebate is claimable from Medicare for the anaesthetic fee which is approximately 30% - 40%.

Medicare - Child Dental Benefit Scheme
We are a NON-bulk billing practice therefore patient who are eligible for the CDBS would need to pay in full and claim back from Medicare. (FYI - Medicare does not cover for consultations)

Cancellation Fees
As a result of the high-demand for appointments, when booking an appointment, a non-refundable deposit of $50 is required to secure your booking – this can be made in-person, bank transfer or over the phone. This $50 deposit will be credited towards the cost of the appointment. Please do note that this is a non-refundable amount if you cancel or fail to attend the appointment.
Any appointment that is cancelled within the 24-hour period prior to the appointment date and time will be charged a cancellation fee of 50% of the value of the appointment fee.
All unpaid cancellation fees that have been charged to a client’s account must be paid prior to, or on the day of, the client’s next appointment. The Practice Manager reserves the right to refuse any future appointment bookings should payment of cancellation fees not be made.
Rescheduling more than 48 hours prior
All appointment bookings made online, in person, or over the phone may be rescheduled up to 48 hours prior to that appointment time at no additional cost. However, Kids Dental and My Braces reserve the right to limit the number of times that an appointment can be re-scheduled. Same-day appointment time changes are not considered to be cancellations and are permitted subject to availability.
