Dr. Wenny Kuo is a specialist paediatric dentist with extensive experience in managing the dental care of children, including those with special needs and dental trauma. Wenny graduated in Dentistry from the University of Queensland in 2016 and completed her specialty training in Paediatric Dentistry at the University of Melbourne, where her research focused on the dental health of children with eczema. She has worked at leading institutions such as the Royal Children’s Hospital and the Royal Dental Hospital of Melbourne, and served as the Secretary for the Australian and New Zealand Society of Paediatric Dentistry (ANZSPD)
Dr. Linda Lizhu Huang
Specialist Paediatric Dentist
Dr. Linda Lizhu Huang has recently joined our team in February 2025 as a Specialist Paediatric Dentist. She is passionate about caring for children’s dental health, helping them smile confidently, and ensuring their dental visits are enjoyable and stress-free.
Linda completed her Bachelor of Dental Science at the University of Queensland in 2012, followed by a Master of Philosophy (Paediatric Dentistry) in 2014, while also working as a general dentist at Baybreeze Dental Care in Cleveland. In 2018, she earned her Doctor of Clinical Dentistry (Paediatrics) from the University of Melbourne. Linda has since worked at the Royal Children’s Hospital and the Royal Dental Hospital of Melbourne, alongside teaching at UoM and practising in several private clinics and hospitals in Melbourne.
Outside of work, Linda is training her dog, Mochii, to become a therapy dog. She loves trying new cuisines, especially Japanese, Korean, and Vietnamese, and enjoys travelling—Japan being her favourite destination. Her life motto is, “Enjoy life!”
Dr. Karthika Balaji
Specialist Paediatric Dentist
Dr. Karthika Balaji is a dedicated specialist paediatric dentist known for her compassionate approach, exceptional clinical skills, and sense of humour. Originally trained as a dentist in India, Karthika moved to New Zealand to complete her Doctor of Clinical Dentistry (DClinDent) in paediatric dentistry at the University of Otago. She enjoys a diverse career, providing dental care in both private and public practices, with a focus on treating anxious children and adolescents, as well as managing dental trauma.
In addition to her clinical practice, Karthika is passionate about training undergraduate students at the University of Queensland, helping them develop into compassionate and competent custodians of oral health for children.
Outside of dentistry, Karthika is a fitness enthusiast and a dedicated yoga practitioner. Her favourite quote is, “The best way to predict the future is to create it,” which inspires her in both her personal and professional life.

Xuru Chambers has been a dedicated Oral Health Therapist at Kids Dental and My Braces since 2021. With a passion for working with children and their families, Xuru is committed to helping improve their oral and dental health, leading to healthier mouths and beautiful smiles. The highlight of her day is witnessing young patients come out of their shells, overcome their fears, and grow in confidence.
Xuru graduated with a Bachelor of Oral Health from Newcastle University in New South Wales in 2013 and later completed her Bachelor of Oral Health Therapy in 2018 at the same institution. Since then, she has gained valuable experience in both general dental and specialist surgeries, treating patients of all ages.
Outside of her professional life, Xuru is married and is a proud mother of three. She loves cooking, savouring good food, and spending quality time with her children.

Natali Nash has been a dedicated Oral Health Therapist at Kids Dental and My Braces since 2019, bringing a wealth of experience and passion to her role. She finds great satisfaction in working with children and helping young patients feel comfortable at the dentist, ensuring they have a positive experience.
Graduating in 2010, Natali has gained experience in various areas of dentistry within private practice. She spent three years working in Geraldton, which provided her with invaluable insights and experiences in a rural setting.
Outside of her professional life, Natali enjoys travelling and spending quality time with her family at the beach. She embraces the philosophy that “You only live once!” which inspires her to make the most of every moment. Additionally, Natali is fluent in Macedonian, allowing her to connect with a broader range of patients.
Dr. Hilary Hassall

Dr. Hilary Hassall joined the team at Kids Dental at the end of August 2023, bringing with her a wealth of experience and a passion for paediatric dentistry. She loves connecting with children and their parents, finding fulfilment in being part of such a supportive and dynamic team.
With a career that began in private general practice in 1989, Hilary has built a strong foundation in dentistry before transitioning to her current role at Kids Dental. Her extensive background allows her to provide compassionate and knowledgeable care to her young patients.
Outside of her professional life, Dr. Hassall enjoys painting still lifes in oil, playing tennis, swimming, and cooking for family and friends. Hilary completed her dental degree at the University of Queensland and is dedicated to continuous learning and growth in her field.

Yishan has been a valuable member of the Kids Dental team since 2015. She holds a Bachelor of Oral Health from the University of Queensland, with dual qualifications in Dental Hygiene and Dental Therapy. Beginning her career in 2012 with the Children’s Oral Health Service, Yishan is dedicated to helping dental phobic individuals overcome their fears while improving their oral health in a supportive environment.
Known for her compassionate approach, Yishan makes every patient visit positive and educational, collaborating with patients to create personalised home care plans. With a personal interest in orthodontics, she understands the journey of her patients who have experienced both traditional braces and clear aligner treatments.
Outside of work, Yishan enjoys playing music as a member of the Queensland Medical Orchestra, making desserts, and playing badminton. She also volunteers with her church to promote oral health awareness. Yishan values quality time with her family, friends, and pets, guided by her favourite quote: “Love never fails.”

Alison Wong has been a valued member of the Kids Dental team since 2010. With a Bachelor of Oral Health from the University of Queensland, Alison is dedicated to providing the highest quality of care to her patients. She believes in creating a gentle and positive experience that empowers both patients and their parents on their journey toward lifelong healthy smiles.
In addition to her work at Kids Dental, Alison contributes her expertise in both private and public dental settings at the Queensland Children’s Hospital, where she collaborates with dental and medical specialists to support patients with special needs, cleft lip and palate, and other craniofacial anomalies. She is registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and is an active member of the Dental Hygienists Association of Australia (DHAA).
Outside of her professional life, Alison enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, exploring new restaurants, and playing tug of war with her beloved border collie, Bonnie. Jo Ann graduated from the University of Queensland in 2013 and has worked in various locations across Australia, including Tasmania, rural New South Wales, and now Brisbane. Her diverse experience enriches her approach to patient care.

Julie Granshaw has been a vital part of the Kids Dental team since 2018 as Practice Manager. With 18 years of experience in the dental field, she started her career as a dental assistant, where she spent the first nine years assisting dentists in treating patients under general anaesthesia. Since then, Julie has transitioned into practice management and business development, using her extensive knowledge to enhance operations and patient care.
What Julie enjoys most about her role is the family-like atmosphere at Kids Dental, where everyone supports one another, fostering a collaborative and positive environment.
Outside of work, Julie loves horse riding, camping, and spending time at the beach. She is a proud mother of twin daughters and a son, and she enjoys the peaceful life on her acreage outside of Brisbane.

Diana’s journey in dentistry began at a dental lab, where she worked as a Lab Assistant in the digital department. There, she gained valuable experience creating 3D prints of dental models, splints, surgical guides, PMMA bridges, and more. This hands-on experience fueled her desire to transition into a dental assistant role, where she could interact directly with patients.

Catherine Hanis has been a valuable member of the team since 2019, serving as a skilled Dental Assistant. She enjoys the variety of tasks that come with her role, relishing both the cardio and occasional adrenaline rush that dental procedures can provide.
Before joining the dental field, Catherine was a Boutique Manager for a flagship gentleman barbershop in Malaysia, where she achieved numerous sales awards while working with a clientele that included royalties and politicians. She made the move to Australia in 2019, bringing her extensive experience and customer service skills to the team.
Outside of work, Catherine loves exploring new places, relaxing at the beach, binge-watching Netflix, listening to music, and catching up on sleep. She draws inspiration from literature, particularly appreciating the lessons found in “The Great Expectations” by Charles Dickens. Additionally, Catherine is fluent in Malay and has a basic understanding of Mandarin.

Susan Quarter has been a valued member of Dr. PY’s team since 2021 as a Dental Assistant. She enjoys working with an amazing and professional team, and she finds great fulfilment in witnessing patients’ transformations after orthodontic treatments, particularly their confident smiles when they see the final results.

Jasmine Tootell joined the company in April 2024 and is currently studying for her Certificate 3 in Dental Assisting. She is passionate about her role and especially enjoys the opportunity to meet new people and build meaningful connections with them.

Stephanie Lo has been an integral part of the team since 2020, working primarily in the theatre and recovery but also assisting dentists in the rooms and attending to patients at reception. Her diverse role allows her to engage with patients at various stages of their dental journeys.
Stephanie holds a Bachelor of Nursing and a Graduate Diploma in Intensive Care, bringing valuable medical knowledge to her work in dentistry. She is passionate about being a part of patients’ healthy smile journeys, providing compassionate care and support throughout their experiences.
Outside of work, Stephanie enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, exploring parks, fishing, and enjoying a splash or two at the beach. She is always eager to learn new things and values listening as one of her many strengths. With more than 30 years of experience in the health industry, including roles as a nurse in hospitals and private clinics, Lynnette brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her work. Her ability to speak Chinese is a valuable asset, allowing her to communicate effectively with a diverse range of patients whenever needed.
Lynnette finds great satisfaction in caring for patients during their recovery and values the strong teamwork that exists within the clinic. Outside of work, she enjoys baking, with a particular passion for creating Malaysian desserts that bring a taste of home to her kitchen.
Chelsea Duggan

Chelsea joined our team in January 2025 as a Recovery Nurse. With a passion for supporting patients and their families during their recovery from general anaesthesia, Chelsea ensures they feel comfortable, safe, and reassured during what can often be a vulnerable time.
Chelsea brings over 18 months of experience from the Queensland Children’s Hospital, where she worked across various wards and specialties. She is deeply committed to providing empathetic care, living by the motto, “A person may forget what you said, but they will never forget how you made them feel,” which shapes her approach to patient care.
Outside of work, Chelsea enjoys spending time with family and friends, sewing, crafting, and exploring the outdoors through camping and nature trips. She is also dedicated to continuous learning in acute and critical care, striving to create positive experiences for young patients, especially in dental care, to help them feel more confident in medical settings.
